About The Position

As Senior Project Manager, you'll spearhead complex hardware development initiatives, steering projects from initial ideation all the way through prototyping, validation, and into manufacturing launch. This is a hands-on individual contributor position with no direct people management. You'll take full ownership of program delivery by aligning cross-functional groups—including mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, design, operations, supply chain, and outside vendors—to hit timelines, quality targets, and volume goals. Reporting lines go to a senior technical authority. Our product development approach is still evolving in a nimble, high-autonomy setting. The goal is to inject useful organization and pace without layering on excessive rules or slowing down execution for a talented, self-directed crew.

Requirements

  • 7+ years driving sophisticated hardware projects, especially consumer-oriented electromechanical ones.
  • Deep mechanical expertise (think housings, structural integrity, heat handling, design-for-manufacturability) with solid ability to interface with electrical/firmware areas.
  • Hands-on history delivering new products through full validation sequences.
  • Proven ability handling scale—from small initial runs to large-scale output.
  • Knowledge of both internal-led and partner/outsourced production setups.
  • Top-notch organization and influence skills to guide outcomes in flat, efficient teams.
  • At ease in changing setups: can introduce structure that accelerates rather than hinders.
  • Open to periodic travel for vendor coordination or on-site build oversight.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with lifecycle management platforms, issue trackers like Jira/Confluence, scheduling tools, or ERP systems.
  • Prior exposure to smart/connected hardware or everyday durable goods.
  • Background guiding early manufacturing phases, improving yields, and stabilizing launches.

Responsibilities

  • Take complete ownership of project lifecycles, end-to-end from early ideas to production handover.
  • Create and oversee detailed, multi-discipline timelines that integrate all engineering streams, design, ops, and vendor inputs.
  • Direct planning and run-through of prototype and validation builds, including gate reviews, risk spotting, contingency actions, and full readiness checks—covering budget, deadlines, specs, reliability, and sourcing.
  • Orchestrate teamwork between in-house groups and outside manufacturing collaborators as initiatives progress.
  • Jump in during active builds to troubleshoot problems, weigh options, and clear roadblocks quickly.
  • Team up with lead engineers to keep technical quality high while pushing for fast cycles and quick learnings.
  • Play a key part in shaping, tweaking, and expanding how we run development workflows, supporting tools, and daily/weekly rhythms.
  • Draw on metrics like test outcomes, reliability data, production yields, and real-world usage info to make smart calls and reduce uncertainties.
