About The Position

The overall main responsibility of the Project Coordinator is to ensure that a particular project is progressing as it should be. The primary function of a project coordinator is to make sure projects run smoothly. An ideal set of duties for the PM role within the ITOps/oCIO org would consist of assisting and overseeing Project Teams as assigned and assisting the other Project Managers in defining and executing processes related to all phases of project execution and Agile methodology.

Requirements

  • High school degree or GED Required.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience.
  • 10+ years as a Project Manager.
  • Communication proficiency, coaching, organizational skills, initiative, team player, decision making, time management, and thoroughness.
  • Adopts Project Management Best Practices.
  • Manages project priorities and performs risk management.
  • Communicates Project status to Stakeholders and promotes involvement.
  • Drives Decision-Making to the lowest level possible.
  • Enforces effective change control.
  • Leads team members within their Program, Project and within the OCIO.
  • Promotes good working relationships.
  • Ability to articulate problems and facilitate solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • IT related Degree - Desired but not required.
  • Scrum Master - Desired but not required.
  • PMP - Desired but not required.
  • Project Management within an IT environment - Desired but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Leading through example, always exhibit the core values and leadership qualities.
  • Coordinate all resources assigned to the Program, including project creation and assignment of Project Coordinators and Project Managers.
  • Provide leadership and be a resource to Project Coordinators and Project Managers.
  • Assist Coordinators, Project Managers, and their Technical Leads with defining and managing team goals and project schedules.
  • Assist in evaluating potential problems, blockers, and new/changing information and develop solutions.
  • Oversee development of Coordinators and Project Managers.
  • Foster cross functional team collaboration.
  • Lead recurring standups for PMO team within oCIO across all Programs.
  • Monitor the scheduling and execution of Agile related meetings, processes standups, sprint planning, and SCRUM.
  • Continuously refine processes to better support Agile Teams.
  • Review in-flight projects and help in keeping projects on schedule.
  • Communicate project updates to senior leadership and/or Stakeholders.
  • Own project reports and documentation with Project Coordinators and Project Managers.
  • Provide identified Project reports desired by Management including Status Report, Risk Register, Financial reporting, and Resource Management.
  • Review weekly reports to ensure all Project elements are being entered and updated.
  • Enhance department by accepting ownership over new and different cross functional demands.
