The Sr. Project Manager plays a critical role in the Program Management team, directly supporting Product Development projects throughout all stages of the project lifecycle from Discovery through Commercialization. The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for scope/schedule/budget, and leading the multi-disciplinary Integrated Project Team (IPT) in planning, execution, managing risk, and resolving issues to reach critical milestones. The Sr. Project Manager will facilitate cross-functional IPT, prototype build, PREP (Production Readiness and Execution Processes) and other project meetings essential to the success of the project. Additional responsibilities include, but not limited to, identifying and recording action items, tactical issue mitigation, developing and maintaining project schedules, periodic reporting of KPIs, BOM cost management, continuous improvements, and other tasks as assigned by Program/Platform leadership. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of Cirrus Manufacturing and Product Development processes, and actively pursuing a career path in Program Management. This position requires a high degree of interaction and communication with multiple departments at multiple levels, as well as external stakeholders and therefore communication, professionalism, and team skills are critical. The Senior Project Manager may lead projects directly, and/or support Sr. Program Managers/Platform Directors on large, highly complex, multi-year programs to meet high-level Company goals.

  • Leads cross-functional project teams and facilitates project meetings as assigned
  • Prepares presentations and/or presents information as assigned
  • Use analyses tools to evaluate and monitor the overall project performance metrics
  • Leads or provides direct support for prototype builds, pre-production builds, pilot builds, and production launch using the PREP methodology
  • Leads tactical teams for timely issue resolution
  • Maintains BOM cost metrics
  • Analyzes, reviews, and documents the GRRI (Gate Readiness Review Indicator) requirements of a project throughout its lifecycle
  • Identifies and records meeting notes, key decisions, and logs action items in JIRA
  • Follows through with assignees to ensure timely execution of action items
  • Escalates to program/functional leadership A/R
  • Learns and follows Cirrus New Project Introduction (NPIS) methodology and provides recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Mentors team members in the principle of the NPIS
  • Fields program requisitions from IPT members, verifies purchase order requirements, and provides periodic updates (including budgetary) to requestors and program leadership
  • Completes project management tasks as assigned by Program/Platform leadership
  • Demonstrates professionalism in speaking, presenting, and communicating with team members
  • Maintains a positive outlook, demeanor, and attitude
  • Manages to the approved business case (MR&O, DR&O/OR&O, & financial outputs)
  • Works closely with program leadership to develop program business case and plan
  • Facilitates Gate reviews with Sr. Leadership and cross-functional team members
  • Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
  • Meets punctuality and preparedness requirements
  • Manages projects with extreme attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Complies with travel requirements estimated at 10%
  • Complies with company vehicle driving requirements estimated at 5%
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, Operations, or other technical field
  • 5 years related work experience in Project Management, Engineering, Operations, or other technical field
  • PMI (Program Management Institute) certification strongly preferred (or ability to obtain within 1 year of onboarding)
  • Leadership experience required
  • Demonstrates sound judgement and identifies risks and develops mitigation strategies
  • Ability to effectively manage competing work demands and multiple project priorities at the same time
  • Proficiency in Avante ERP (within 30 days)
  • Proficiency in UltiPro (within 30 days)
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint (required at start)
  • Proficiency in SharePoint (within 30 days)
  • Proficiency in Power BI (within 90 days)
