Requirements

  • Associates, Bachelors, or certificate in environmental, IH, construction, engineering, or related field preferred; Field work experience may substitute for education
  • DOSH CSST or CAC certification.
  • CDPH Lead-Related Construction Sampling Technician or Inspector/Assessor certification.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to meet DISA drug/alcohol testing requirements.
  • Ability to wear respirator, safety harness, and required PPE.
  • Experience conducting asbestos, lead, and mold surveys.
  • Experience with exposure assessments and hazardous materials oversight.
  • Knowledge of industrial hygiene and building sciences sampling equipment and protocols.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ability to climb stairs/ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and work nights/weekends as required.
  • Southern California location with reliable transportation and ability to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct asbestos, lead-based paint, and other hazardous materials surveys.
  • Collect environmental and personal samples and prepare them for laboratory analysis.
  • Provide asbestos and lead-based paint oversight during remediation.
  • Prepare, review, and sign survey and project reports.
  • Collect detailed field notes and photographs to support report preparation.
  • Prepare chain-of-custody documents and record survey data on approved forms.
  • Compose detailed sample location maps.
  • Operate, calibrate, maintain, and clean standard field sampling equipment.
  • Implement Atlas health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Travel to project sites, work varied hours as required, communicate with project teams, follow Atlas standards, and participate in training and professional development.
