About The Position

Collins Aerospace has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer to join our Power & Controls organization. We are seeking a highly motivated engineering professional who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and is ready to take on significant responsibility. In this high-impact role, the selected candidate will provide comprehensive Project Engineering support for Environmental and Aircraft Control Systems (EACS), with a focus on Rotating Machinery (RM) and Packs. Key responsibilities include ownership of Supplier Request for Information (SRI) and Change Request coordination, as well as tracking, reporting, and driving closure across these critical project elements. This position will sit at our Aguadilla, Puerto Rico location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation assistance is not offered. This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Experience managing and leading multifunction Engineering projects
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written)
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace or defense experience.
  • Experience managing supplier requests for information, and implementing solutions such as engineering changes.
  • Strong leadership skills to guide cross-functional teams, align members with project goals, and drive progress toward milestones.
  • Experience communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including through written reports and verbal presentations.
  • Proven ability to convey project status, risks, and solutions to senior leadership and customers.
  • Experience creating clear, concise, and well-structured technical documents, reports, and proposals, including requirements, design details, and testing procedures.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project), with the ability to create detailed reports, presentations, schedules, and project tracking documents.
  • Experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM) or in a similar role managing project budgets, earned value management (EVM), and reporting financial performance in alignment with program goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead SRI burndown to ensure efficient execution.
  • Coordinate efforts that can include engineering changes to address SRIs.
  • Create presentations and reports for RM & Pack leadership.
  • Act as a liaison between RM & Pack and GETC-PR SRI supporting organization.
  • Work closely with a multifunctional team to meet defined requirements, mitigate risks, and ensure milestones are achieved.
  • Provide Project Engineering support as needed.
