About The Position

GFT is seeking a Sr. Project Engineer, Transit & Rail to join our Seattle, WA office. Working on the Transportation team at GFT offers the opportunity to engage in transformative projects that enhance transportation infrastructure and improve community connectivity. Explore some of our signature Transportation projects here. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • 10+ years of applicable experience
  • Expertise with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Expertise with CADD
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to lead client presentations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with drainage design and utility design preferred
  • Experience with project proposals and presentations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development of project planning and design concepts and criteria
  • Leads development of plans, project specifications, and cost estimates for final design transit and transportation projects.
  • Responsible for coordinating with other disciplines within the project team to resolve design conflicts
  • May develop basic to moderate scopes of work and fee estimates independently.
  • Assists in project management activities for small and medium complexity projects and interfaces with the client.
  • Provides QA/QC reviews
  • May supervise a staff of engineers and other technical specialists
  • Responsible for working closely with clients for client satisfaction as well as business development purposes
  • Responsible to work on multiple concurrent assignments and time management
  • Responsible for supporting the team in obtaining the permits necessary to complete the project and to provide interaction with the permitting agencies.
