About The Position
Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Project Engineer - Structural/Bridge to join our transportation infrastructure team in either our Appleton or Madison, WI office. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of bridge project experience and a willingness to help create, build, and grow a bridge engineering department within Wisconsin. This role is designed for a driven engineer who is ready to take on more responsibility and assist in building a team within our Wisconsin Market. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the structural design of bridges and ancillary transportation structures for WisDOT and municipal clients. Your duties will include conducting field reviews of existing bridges designated for replacement or rehabilitation, preparing preliminary bridge design and structure survey reports, and coordinating various project activities with the project team, including geotechnical investigations, hydrology and hydraulics, environmental reports and permitting, survey, and roadway design. You will prepare or direct the structural design, specifications, and plans, and provide professional and technical support to multiple Westwood projects. In this role, you will also offer day-to-day support and input to internal and external Project Managers, communicate project details with clients, agencies, and the public, and mentor, train, and supervise the work of less experienced engineers and technical support personnel. It is essential to ensure that division, regional, and company values, policies, and practices are consistently followed within the survey service. You will lead by example, displaying solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.
