Sr. Project Engineer-PM (Airport)
About The Position
Graham & Associates is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager to join our team and lead the design efforts for projects at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. The Senior Project Engineer will play a pivotal role in leading the design effort for various projects at the Airport. This position requires a highly skilled and experienced engineer with a strong understanding of civil site design principles, land development, infrastructure planning, with expertise in grading, drainage, utilities, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the design process, from conceptual planning to final construction documents
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Minimum of 20+ years of experience in civil site design, preferably with airport projects.
- Knowledge of airport design standards and regulations (e.g., FAA, ICAO).
- Understanding and competency in 3D modeling for civil engineering design, with strong expertise in industry-standard software such as Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD, as well as other relevant design platforms.
- Experience in essential computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design team in developing comprehensive civil site design plans for airport projects, including roadways, parking areas, utility systems, and other infrastructure elements.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that the design aligns with overall project goals and meets all relevant codes and standards.
- Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and calculations for civil site components.
- Perform hydrologic/hydraulic calculations, earthwork analysis, and cost estimations.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and gather data for design purposes.
- Prepare and review construction documents, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with architects, surveyors, contractors, and government agencies.
- Coordinate with permitting agencies to obtain necessary approvals for design plans.
- Oversee the construction phase of projects, providing technical support and ensuring compliance with design specifications.
- Stay updated on industry’s best practices, new technologies, and regulatory changes.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and design staff.
