The Sr. Project Engineer - Medical Safety Testing position is responsible for independently performing testing and evaluation on a variety of products to the provisions of U.S., Canadian and other international product safety standards; writing reports; and communicating with clients. This Sr. Project Engineer position is also responsible for providing local expertise in one or more product categories and mentoring and training less senior technical personnel. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 5+ years directly related experience
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters
  • Excellent communication skills, in both verbal and written formats
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Microsoft Office expertise
  • Ability to travel as business needs dictate, up to15%
  • A valid driver's license and reliable driving record is required
  • Applicants will be required to complete an I-9 to verify their eligibility to work in the U.S.
  • Applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Provide local technical expertise in one or more product categories.
  • Analyze and interpret test data.
  • Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test).
  • Review sequences and phases of test operations and prepare technical reports based on findings.
  • Perform evaluations on a variety of biomedical and medical safety products to the provisions of U.S. Canadian and other international product safety standards.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance staff to prepare product specification and safety sheets, standard operating procedures, user manuals, qualification and validation reports.
  • Report test results to management and recommend changes to medical safety testing in an effort to improve Company efficiency and the quality of manufacturing.
  • Build and configure medical testing systems and equipment.
  • Build and calibrate test fixtures.
  • Conduct thorough construction review and report results to management.
