About The Position

Under the direction of the Project Engineering Manager, the Sr. Project Engineer I is responsible for managing projects from the design stage, all the way through production approval. This includes tooling, fixtures, gauging, production routings, schedules, dimensional approval, costs, profitability, and customer contact/correspondence.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in technical engineering field from a four-year college or university.
• 5+ years’ experience in a foundry setting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in aerospace or defense industries is a plus.
• Prior experience with CAD, FEA, and MiniTab software preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of tooling, material characteristics, and general manufacturing and machining practices.
• Familiarity with applicable ISO/IATF/AS and quality system requirements and policies.
• Knowledge of 3D solid modeling (SolidCast) and NX (UniGraphics).
• Proficiency in applying GD&T principles and continuous flow manufacturing principles.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite products.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all safety and health guidelines, quality standard practices/procedures and housekeeping standards.
• Prioritize customer satisfaction, timeliness, and quality.
• Manage and facilitate all part number project activities in multiple facilities including tool design, gauge design, and supplier selection.
• Lead all APQP process for all assigned part projects.
• Act as a mentor and resource to other Engineers at levels I & II.
• Act as an influencer and contributing member to the plant management team on process improvement projects, OKR’s.
• Investigate and correct part number scrap/defect related issues.
• Develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing procedures.
• Lead the plant management team during operational review meetings with the executive team.
• Stand in for Process/Manufacturing engineer as it relates to new part activity.
• Effectively manage and problem solve through customer line down situations, tight project development timelines, and quality concerns.
• Participate in activities related to audits, regulatory, customer, and registrar.
• Assist in company technical advancement through research and development.
• Perform customer technical sales presentations/seminars at customer sites.
