The Sr Project Engineer for Geothermal Operations at BHE Renewables is responsible for overseeing engineering, procurement, and construction activities related to electrical engineering projects. This role involves managing major engineering projects exceeding $10 million, ensuring compliance with technical, financial, and contractual requirements, and providing support to operations and maintenance teams to optimize power generation and project performance.

  • Respond to operating and project needs by providing electrical engineering support for maintenance and repair at power plant facilities.
  • Provide technical input for project planning and development, incorporating new ideas and technologies.
  • Manage assigned capital projects, including understanding technology, performing management of change requests, and developing requests for proposals.
  • Maintain close contact with operations and maintenance to evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements.
  • Review process and equipment design for compliance with engineering principles and specifications.
  • Schedule equipment installations and provide training and documentation to operations and maintenance teams.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, electrical, or civil engineering; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in power plant engineering, refinery, or chemical plant experience.
  • Knowledge of business, financial, and contractual matters is ideal.
  • Experience with cross-country pipeline installations, pressure vessels, high-pressure steam systems, and air pollution abatement systems is a plus.
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are required.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and write reports and correspondence.
  • Strong communication skills to present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders.
  • Background in mechanical engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with plant design and construction.
  • Competitive salary range between $116,000 and $164,000 per year.
