Leads the engineering development of new manufacturing equipment, products and processes by performing the following duties: · Identifies, prepares and proposes new manufacturing equipment capital expenditure requests that include costs, ROIs and timelines. · Plans, organizes and leads large engineering projects from conceptualization to launch. · Confers with application engineering, industrial controls, manufacturing and outside integrators to ensure equipment requirements are met. · Prepares and adheres to project schedules and raises issues to meet project deadlines and takes necessary steps to resolve. · Conceptualizes, designs and details key elements of new automated manufacturing equipment. · Monitors project expenditures within limitations of project budget. · Prepares or coordinates preparation of system layout, detailed drawings, 3D models and schematics and all other engineering documentation. · Develops project risk summaries and coordinates with project teams or outside integrators to mitigate risk. · Evaluates and approves design changes, specification changes and drawing releases. · Provides technical support for existing processes and Mentors junior engineers · Process new part orders including designing of parts, writing Master Data Sheets and designing and ordering of tooling. · Supervises engineers, engineering technicians and model shop associates, as required, through the product launch process, including new part quote, new part set-up, and prototype builds adhering to the appropriate product development tools as required (APQP, CP, DFMEA, PFMEA, etc.…).
