The Senior Program Manager for Research and Development in Space-based Programs at Southwest Research Institute is a pivotal role that involves leading a multidisciplinary team of engineers, program managers, and technicians dedicated to the development of spaceflight missions and related technologies. In this role, the Senior Program Manager will be responsible for developing processes and procedures aimed at training engineers and technicians, thereby enhancing the team's capabilities and efficiency. Daily responsibilities include tracking project progress, generating reports, and managing customer expectations. The manager will collaborate with potential customers to explore new business opportunities and strategize with department members to align SwRI's offerings with the needs of both military and commercial clients. This position requires a strong background in aerospace engineering or related fields, along with extensive management experience and a proven track record in strategic planning and organizational development.
