About The Position

Join Our Team! We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Program Manager to lead Oncology project management and scientific acceleration initiatives. This individual will play a pivotal role in leading program and project delivery, advancing our clinical trial pipeline by driving cross-functional clinical development programs, and ensuring operational excellence. This role will report directly to the Director of Operations and will serve as a key leader within the department. The Senior Program Manager will lead and mentor a mid-sized team of Program Coordinators and Program Managers, while collaborating extensively with faculty and internal stakeholders. This individual must demonstrate proven expertise in management, program leadership, project management, and oncology clinical trial development. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and execution-focused leader with excellent communication skills, strong cross-functional collaboration abilities, and a proven ability to guide and develop teams towards successful outcomes. Experience leading complex programs and clinical trial development within a biotech, pharma, or CRO setting is strongly preferred. An advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a related field, along with a CCRP or PMP certification, is highly desirable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum Experience: 5+ progressive years of experience in a business-facing program management role.
  • Significant experience in risk management, issue resolution, resource management, and financial tracking of multiple/complex programs.
  • Experience leading large/complex/multiple programs with a focus on internal and external customer needs.
  • Proven experience in operational management, and budget planning & management through diverse program teams.
  • Proven experience facilitating and presenting updates to leadership team.
  • Experience in organizational capability development within program management.
  • People Managers only: Experience managing a program management team.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree or PhD strongly preferred.
  • CCRP or PMP strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading complex programs and clinical trial development within a biotech, pharma, or CRO setting is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide program leadership for the planning, development, and launch of pediatric oncology clinical trials and departmental scientific initiatives.
  • Provide project management leadership and guidance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Program Coordinators and Managers fostering professional growth, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Manage program timelines, budget, and resource allocation to ensure project and portfolio success.
  • Anticipate risks and implement effective mitigation strategies to maintain project momentum.
  • Partner with senior leadership and key stakeholders to drive critical programs forward within scope and timeline.
  • Ensure that all actives comply with ICH-GCP, regulatory requirements, and SOPs.
  • Build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to optimize clinical trial development and project execution.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for program-level updates, reporting, and decision-making with departmental leadership.
  • Prepare and deliver program updates, dashboards, and presentations to track progress and ensure transparency.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, transparency, and high performance within the program team.
  • Design and implement processes and tools that enhance program and operational efficiency.
  • Guide, mentor, and coach junior team members to build long-term organizational capacity.
  • Manage a mid-sized team of program coordinators and managers and participate in all aspects of team leadership and management, inclusive of performance management and staffing.
  • Establish processes and policies to support program goals.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
