About The Position

At Palo Alto Networks, we are looking for innovators committed to shaping the future of cybersecurity. This position requires on-site work 5 days a week and an active U.S. DoD Secret (or higher) security clearance at the time of application. You will provide guidance and technical support to clients deploying our security integrations, acting as a technical partner to secure digital environments. Your role involves interacting directly with clients, understanding their needs, and suggesting integrations to enhance their success. You will also be responsible for implementation work, proactively resolving potential concerns, and adhering to best practices to help clients achieve a more secure digital world.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with network and security solutions and technologies, including routing and switching, security appliances, virtual machines, and hypervisors.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintaining security solutions in large-scale production environments.
  • Detailed technical experience in the installation, configuration, and operation of high-end firewall appliances, specifically with Palo Alto Networks products.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting network issues across LAN, CAN, and WAN.
  • Comfortable implementing OSPF, BGP, IPSec VPN, and NAT.
  • Experience with NGFW policy optimization, PANOS installation, and high availability troubleshooting.
  • Experience with cloud providers, including AWS, GCP, or Azure, is beneficial.
  • Must have a DoD 8570 IAT Level II Compliant Certification (Sec+, CCNA Security, CASP+, CISSP, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Work on-site full-time at the customer’s location, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, to perform network security appliance cutovers.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, sales teams, peers, engineering, and support teams as necessary.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the customer's environment, requirements, and security roadmap to deploy the appropriate security solution.
  • Configure, implement and maintain Security Operating Platforms.
  • Optimize and migrate policies and objects from the existing environment to our Next-Gen Firewall.
  • Test and validate the migration environment to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Coordinate and execute cutovers to production while guiding code upgrades.
  • Facilitate the development of new applications and threat signatures.
  • Interact with our Technical Assistance Center (TAC) to understand and diagnose support cases.
  • Occasionally travel based on customer requests.
  • Collaborate with the customer's security and network teams to instill confidence across impacted business units during Palo Alto Networks implementation.
  • Implement network segment controls aligning with NIST and RMF frameworks.
  • Validate and implement proof of concepts in lab environments.
  • Provide technical implementation and strategy support to the customer, effectively communicating engineering details to executives.
