About The Position

In this fast paced and critical role, Sr. Professional and Clinical Trainer will delivery and maintenance of product and clinical training for associates within Terumo Interventional Systems (TIS). This role is responsible for the delivery and facilitation of product and clinical training curriculums to new hires and existing associates within TIS. The Sr. Professional and Clinical Trainer is responsible to use the best-in-class means of training delivery including e-learning, self-study, computer-based training assessments, classroom, and virtual training to deliver approved clinical and product messaging via our customer interaction model. This role partners closely with the Professional and Clinical Training Managers, Sales, Field clinical, Marketing, and Medical Affairs to ensure training curriculum and materials adequately prepare associates to successfully sell all TIS promoted products by meeting all internal and external requirements.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant sales training experience in a medical device or pharmaceutical environment or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Relevant experience in sales or clinical is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing sales training curriculums and sales training classes is required.
  • Experience in adult learning principles and experience in facilitation of product disease and sales curriculum in the healthcare industry preferred.
  • Content development, communication, and facilitation skills as evidenced preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partnering cross-functionally to ensure that TIS new hires (both field sales and office based) receive the necessary training on product, clinical, selling skills, etc. prior to in-house advanced sales training.
  • Manage the first three phases of field sales on-boarding – field sales training phases 1, 2, and 3 which occur prior to in-house advanced sales training.
  • Assess organizational needs and align training strategies based on those needs.
  • Develop and implement competency certification for clinical and product knowledge for all eligible TIS associates.
  • Implements course evaluations and works with training managers to assess effectiveness of programs and makes recommendations for updates of the programs.
  • Develops and maintains assigned course curriculums, instructional materials, participant materials, and online course content.
  • Partner with and assist the Professional and Clinical Training Managers with conducting advanced training classes for all new hires in field sales, field clinical, corporate accounts, and marketing.
  • Is certified in and is a subject matter expect on Terumo’s selling model. Responsible for training new hires on Terumo’s selling model.
  • Evaluate new hires during training sessions to provide coaching and feedback to the new hires and their managers.
  • Partner with the clinical and professional training team and marketing in the creation of sales training curriculum and materials for existing products and in support of new product/line extension launches.
  • Provide guidance and support related to procedures and products to NPD, Regulatory and Quality as required.
  • Assist in the planning of product and clinical training content for regional, area and national sales meetings.
  • Continually evaluate effectiveness of training programs and materials and look for opportunities to enhance.
  • Conduct field visits with territory managers and field clinicals to remain abreast of the industry, clinical, product and customer trends.
  • Responsible for the implementation of ongoing learning programs for the field organization and ensure that selling is incorporated into all training programs.
  • Collaborates with the Professional and Clinical Training Team and e-Learning Specialist to provides strategic direction for diverse training and development programs across the brands.
