About The Position

The employee in this position performs the mixing and the injection operation. They are responsible for mixing all different types of monomer per the mixing procedure and recipe in preparation for the injection process, injecting monomer into mold assemblies as outlined in the company standard operating procedures, and maintaining tracking accuracy. The role also involves inspecting assemblies for injection and film defects, following standard operating procedures for loading cure ovens and vats, pre-gel time, and cleaning injection equipment. The employee must ensure a safe working environment by following all safety requirements while mixing and filling specifically on the 1.67 process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one (1) to three (3) years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to respond to an emergency alarm and wear required PPE.
  • Must be able to pass respirator testing.
  • Ability to understand and follow both oral and/or written company standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to produce quality work at standard quantities or above.
  • Ability to detect obvious defects.
  • Ability to keep a clean working area.
  • Ability to follow all safety requirements.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Attention to detail.
  • While performing the duties of this job employee is frequently required to sit, stand and use hands or fingers to handle material.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch.
  • While performing the duties of this job employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to hot and/or cold conditions, solvents and chemical fumes.
  • Ability to wear protective eyewear and may be required to wear protective gloves, aprons, smocks, boots, and wear a respirator while performing the duties in this position.
  • Basic operating knowledge of computer.

  • One (1) year's experience in production or lab environment preferred.
