About The Position

POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Active leadership and support of Operational Excellence, Lean / Six Sigma and the continuous improvement process. Actively implement continuous improvement, through identifying and resolving issues impacting safety, quality, on-time and complete delivery, cost, and process flow. Plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation according to established manufacturing sequences and lead times. Proactively alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Directly manage production supervisor/s for value stream to achieve operational objectives. Deploy and monitor staffing to execute production schedule. Confer with department Supervisors to determine status of assigned projects. Provide schedule updates, monitor and update ERP schedules as required. Lead attainment of zero quality defects. Drive production operations in the prevention of injuries and zero-incident work environment. Adhere to established Safety policies and procedures and train people to ensure a safe environment for all associates. Develop team members to maximize performance of safety, quality and production. Process documentation and validation. Estimate, requisition and inspect materials and manage consumable inventories as needed. Maintain labor and inventory transaction compliance. Proficient use of CTO Pro View (Shop View), Epicor, Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Insite (Intranet). Directly supervise 10-30 associates and 1-2 production supervisors. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws including exhibiting core value behavior. Responsibilities include hiring and training employees; assigning work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field desired; minimum of five years related leadership experience in a manufacturing setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a verbal and a written manner.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodology.
  • Close attention to detail and ability to prioritize is critical.
  • Ability to effectively interact with a diverse team of people.
  • Proficiencies in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ERP software.
  • Strong proficiencies in internal software: CTO-Pro View, BOM+, ERP/Epicor, Manufacturing Data Package, and other supporting documents, and company Intranet
  • Familiarity with Apogee Architectural Metals products and processes.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
