Your Role on Our Team As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for driving the design and delivery of analytical products that enable the business to plan, execute and measure promotions with confidence. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Pricing, Sales, Channel Marketing, Solution Delivery & Finance to define business requirements, prioritize features & functionality, and ensure consistent, reliable access to trusted data. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, highly organized, analytical, curious, an excellent communicator, and possesses a deep understanding of agile product delivery principles and practices.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in IT, Engineering, or Business Management minimum; OR equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner working on an agile software product team
  • Storytelling & Insight Delivery: Ability to frame insights clearly using compelling visuals and narratives tailored to business audiences.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated understanding of how BI solutions impact decision-making and drive value.
  • Promotion Performance Measurement: Quantify lift, cannibalization, halo, and ROI using POS and sales data; define KPI/metric logic that becomes the single source of truth.
  • Promotions & Pricing Domain Expertise: Demonstrated experience analyzing promotional data (promo events, promotional pricing, promo calendars) and communicating results to business partners.
  • Retail POS & Market Data Experience: Experience working with multiple forms of retailer POS data and syndicated data sources such as vendor drill, IRI, NPD, Stackline, etc.
  • Background in collaborating with data engineering and business intelligence teams.
  • Ability to distill complex concepts and ideas to simple brief points of communication - This person must have the innate ability to communicate in a powerfully succinct manner in verbal and written form.
  • Strong evidence of strategic thinking and experience executing in a fast-paced cross functional environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence and organize.

Nice To Haves

  • Promotional BI Development: Build and maintain a promotions reporting suite (scalable models, dashboards and reporting) including pre-promo readiness/forecast views and post-promo performance scorecards.
  • BI Tool Expertise: Deep experience with Power BI (DAX, dataflows, dataset management), and familiarity with Tableau or Looker a plus.
  • Product Owner certification (e.g., CSPO)
  • Passion for technology and a deep understanding of market trends and customer needs in the digital product space.
  • Familiarity with product management tools, such as ADO, Jira, Trello, Lucid, and Confluence.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in program governance using both waterfall and agile methodologies combined with demonstrated ability to manage large, complex projects.
  • Strong partner who can quickly learn business processes and provide strategic insight and guidance.
  • Background in collaborating with data engineering and business intelligence teams.

Responsibilities

  • Promoting a culture where teams are inspired to collaborate; ensuring everyone understands their part in the process.
  • Performing the soft skills of Product Ownership such as team collaboration, being detail oriented, and being a problem solver.
  • Driving agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews with a continued analysis of team ceremonies effectiveness.
  • Collaborating with the business users to ensure clear understanding and acceptance of user stories for analytical needs into data models and visualization requirements.
  • Be the team captain!
  • Building a relationship with the team & leaders to ensure team outcomes align with key business stakeholder needs.
  • Maintaining a prioritized product backlog with epics, features, and user stories.
  • Continuously refining and grooming the backlog to ensure a clear understanding of the requirements.
  • Defining and prioritizing business requirements and enhancements, in addition to writing & owning acceptance criteria.
  • Creating and maintaining a team roadmap that outlines the timeline for delivering key milestones.
  • Acting as a communication bridge between team and business stakeholders to understand key issues, identify perception gaps, and resolve questions.
  • Effectively communicate updates and status to the necessary audience.
  • Opportunity for mentorship, guiding teams & fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Sharing experiences and best practices with other Product Owners.
  • Identifying opportunities for process or data governance & security improvements within the team.
  • Defining and communicating product vision aligned with business goals; acting as voice of the customer/user.
  • Debating, challenging and aligning with key stakeholders & cross functional partners to arrive at an ideal outcome.
  • Developing documentation, training materials and reusable assets that support business user adoption and self-service analytics.
  • Organizing PI Planning inclusive of meeting facilitation & outlining key objectives for necessary team & business audience
