About The Position

The Senior Product Owner I at Duquesne Light Company plays a crucial role in the Agile Transformation Initiative, focusing on delivering business outcomes through improved velocity and collaboration across the organization. This position involves overseeing product teams aligned with business domains such as Human Resources, timekeeping, and payroll, guiding product roadmaps, and ensuring adherence to safety and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Human Resources, Business, or related field.
  • Seven (7+) or more years of experience in product management, consulting, or related technical role, including at least five (5) years working in an agile product environment and three (3+) or more years of experience building and shipping technical products.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant Agile Scrum, Product Owner or Scrum Master certifications, such as Certified Product Owner Certification or Certified Scrum Master Certification.
  • Experience with Human Resource Applications (SAP SuccessFactors, Workforce Software and UltiPro).
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX / UI, customer experience, finance, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in a business function or role (e.g., strategic marketing, business operations, consulting).
  • Experience delivering technical presentations to senior leadership.
  • Experience in software development or engineering.
  • Experience in the utility and/or energy industry.

Responsibilities

  • Create and articulate a compelling vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution plans for the product domain.
  • Communicate product values to users and stakeholders, representing the team with the company's senior leadership.
  • Identify key business outcomes to meet stakeholder needs with an eye towards innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Manage complex needs across multiple business and IT groups across the suite of products.
  • Manage key executive relationships to maintain product pipeline of work and strategic direction.
  • Own product delivery and value creation for one or more business domains, overseeing prioritization of epics, features, and stories in the product backlog.
  • Act as a trusted advisor across business and IT teams and the respective customers.
  • Work closely with the IT Business Advisors to align with the entire project/product portfolio and business planning cycles.
