About The Position
The position of Product Engineer is a critical role within the New Products Engineering group, reporting directly to the Vice President of Product Engineering. The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and provide design and engineering support to new product development teams. This includes scheduling and tracking new product timelines and activities, as well as managing assigned projects to ensure timely and successful completion. The Product Engineer will assume a leadership role, coordinating with other engineering staff to align project priorities with emerging needs and organizational goals. In this role, the Product Engineer will function as both the project engineer and team leader for various new product or product improvement projects. This involves engineering and managing jobs that are variations of standard products, ensuring that all product documentation is completed and managed effectively. This documentation includes CAD models, shop drawings, bills of material, and field instructions. The Product Engineer will also be responsible for completing Engineering Change Notices in accordance with established procedures and ensuring compliance with design standards, CAD standards, and product safety standards relevant to certified testing programs. Additionally, the Product Engineer will perform setup and testing, assisting compliance staff with scheduling and the scope of product testing. Mentoring and training other staff members will also be part of the responsibilities, along with performing process and software administrative duties as assigned. The role may require flexibility in handling other job duties as they arise, making adaptability and strong organizational skills essential for success.
