About The Position

The Sr. Product Engineer will support new product development and product sustaining engineering. Acts as technical resource and focal point between R D and other internal groups, such as marketing, sales, application engineering, customer technical support, and manufacturing. Aligns R D with the needs of the customer and business.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; MS in Engineering/MBA preferred or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of electrical engineering product development, design, repair, or support experience.
• Working knowledge in power/electrical engineering; AC and DC power

• MS in Engineering/MBA preferred or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Deeply understands the customer, driving ideas and improvements for new and existing products back to R D.
• Provides technical expertise on product lines to all internal Vertiv functions - marketing, sales, application engineering, customer technical support and service, and manufacturing.
• Creates and/or reviews engineering new product specifications, ECNs, tests, procedures, user manuals, submittal drawings, and sales literature.
• Deeply understands the customer, driving ideas and improvements for new and existing products back to R D.
• Troubleshoots and determines root-cause of escalated or re-occurring field issues, reporting analysis back to internal teams and, at times, directly back to customer.
• Supports manufacturing by answering new line setup questions, approving supply chain part substitutions and deviation procedures.
• Leads and performs lab testing of products.
• Works closely with technicians and junior engineers, providing technical expertise and guidance.
