About The Position

Pneumatic and Hydraulic Company is seeking an experienced Sr. Product Engineer - Fluid Power & Pressure Control Systems to support the design, development, and lifecycle ownership of engineered pressure-based product lines and system packages. This role carries engineering design responsibility within defined product lines and works closely with manufacturing, sales, and operations to ensure systems are manufacturable, compliant, and reliable for industrial applications.

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of engineering experience in fluid power, hydraulics, pneumatics, pressure control, pressure testing systems, or engineered industrial equipment
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline preferred
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic circuit design, pressure control strategies, and component selection
  • Experience with pressure vessels, pressure testing systems, or high pressure equipment preferred
  • Ability to perform system calculations and apply engineering fundamentals to real world applications
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as SolidWorks or equivalent
  • Ability to interpret and create technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and field installation considerations
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross functionally with sales, manufacturing, and operations

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ASME, API, NFPA, or other applicable pressure and fluid power standards
  • Certified Fluid Power Engineer
  • Experience with instrumentation and control integration for pressure systems
  • Experience leading product improvements or new product development initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical owner for assigned fluid power and pressure control product lines
  • Design and develop hydraulic, pneumatic, and pressure control systems including component selection, system sizing, and integration
  • Create and review engineering drawings, P and IDs, schematics, BOMs, and technical documentation
  • Perform system calculations including pressure, flow, force, thermal, and safety factor analysis
  • Lead design for manufacturability, serviceability, and cost optimization initiatives
  • Support pressure testing system design including relief strategies, control schemes, instrumentation, and safety compliance
  • Validate system performance through testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
  • Coordinate with manufacturing to support build execution, resolve technical issues, and improve production efficiency
  • Support compliance with applicable codes and standards related to pressure systems and fluid power equipment
  • Participate in customer technical discussions and provide engineering clarification as required
  • Drive continuous improvement of standard product configurations, templates, and engineering practices
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers as applicable
