About The Position

The Senior Product Engineer at CPP-Cleveland, Inc. is responsible for leading and training less experienced engineers, enhancing manufacturing processes, and ensuring product quality in the investment casting industry. This role involves customer interaction for new product introduction (NPI), problem-solving to improve yield and profitability, and maintaining best practices in casting procedures. The position emphasizes teamwork and collaboration to support the company's growth in aerospace and industrial markets.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering or related technical field.
  • 15+ years' experience in mechanical or product engineering in the investment casting industry.
  • Expert in DS/SX casting process, shell parameters, and dimensional impact.
  • Expert in statistics and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Expert in GD&T and ability to interpret customer specifications.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong PC skills and CAD skills.
  • Ability to interpret customer drawings and models.

Responsibilities

  • Train less experienced engineers to develop a cohesive Engineering Team.
  • Quote NPI to grow CPP's part portfolio.
  • Interface with customers to develop NPI and improve profitability on current parts.
  • Develop and enhance robust manufacturing processes and tooling.
  • Teach 'best practice' investment casting procedures to meet business objectives.
  • Identify problems and implement solutions to improve yield and quality.
  • Take a leadership role in resolving cross-functional problems.
  • Support the construction of dies and tooling needed for production.
  • Identify and improve process yields using data analysis techniques.
  • Interface with tooling vendors to produce quality tools at competitive prices.
  • Control the dimensional quality of castings to meet customer expectations.
  • Develop internal job instructions and document work procedures.
  • Publish reports on research and completed tests using data-based decisions.
  • Audit production lots for adherence to established techniques.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere and improve labor utilization.
