Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Science, or related field.
  • 4+ years of engineering experience, preferably in medical devices or closely related industries.
  • Design and verification experience in a fast‑paced R&D environment.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, adaptability, and a proactive approach to project challenges.

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Familiarity with FDA, ISO, and IEC requirements applicable to medical device development.
  • Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP).
  • Hands‑on machining, prototyping, and test fixture experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead concept development, mechanical design, prototyping, and product development for blood‑contacting devices.
  • Create and maintain SolidWorks CAD models and detailed drawings in accordance with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing standards (e.g., ASTM Y14.5, ASTM Y14.8, and ISO 1101).
  • Conduct tolerance stack analyses and design for manufacturability, including injection‑molded components.
  • Develop verification plans, write protocols, run tests, and prepare verification reports.
  • Create and validate test methods and fixtures.
  • Ensure designs meet consensus standards and support regulatory submissions as needed.
  • Apply DMAIC and Six Sigma tools to perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams (electrical, software, clinical, manufacturing, regulatory) across the full product development lifecycle.
  • Identify technical risks and program bottlenecks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
