About The Position

The Sr. Product Development Engineer will design and develop new active implantable products (IPGs or leads) and/or modify existing ones. This role will lead technical execution of development projects within cross-functional teams, with an emphasis on lead development from concept through full production. This is a contract role of at least two months, with potential extension based on business and project needs. Start date is ASAP to allow for project transition. Contract-to-hire opportunity available for the right candidate.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• 5-10+ years of product development experience in the medical device industry, ideally with neuro/cardiac leads or active implantable systems.
• Proficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred); capable of fixture design and assembly manipulation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of machining and assembly practices (plastics/metals) and familiarity with human anatomy preferred.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new products per customer specifications and applicable standards.
• Develop product requirements, specifications, and test methods to verify design compliance.
• Perform design modeling, tooling and test equipment design, and data analysis to guide decisions.
• Manage day-to-day project execution, providing technical direction and problem-solving support.
• Lead technical reviews and cross-functional collaboration across Product Development, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing.
• Support new production processes and product launches, ensuring adherence to design, safety, and quality standards.
• Prepare and maintain project plans, schedules, and documentation.
