Learn more at tandemdiabetes.com A DAY IN THE LIFE: The Senior Product Analyst II serves as a strategic partner to product, engineering, and business stakeholders, driving data-informed decision making across the product lifecycle by translating complex datasets into actionable insights, scalable analytics solutions, and clear narratives. With strong technical expertise, product acumen, customer empathy, and cross-functional influence, this role advances business objectives while leading the development and governance of product metrics, dashboards, and self-service analytics capabilities, partnering across teams to improve product performance, user experience, and operational efficiency through rigorous analysis and data-driven recommendations. A Senior Product Analyst II at Tandem also: Works within an agile scrum framework to support product development and iterative delivery. Partners with product, engineering, UX, and business teams to define success metrics, measurement plans, and analytic approaches. Translates product and business questions into structured analytical frameworks and clear, actionable recommendations. Creates intuitive dashboards, KPI views, and reporting systems using Power BI. Leverages modern analytics techniques, including Python, SQL, and AI/ML tools, to automate repeatable analyses and accelerate insight generation. Conducts deep-dive analyses on adoption, system performance, and user experience to uncover actionable insights. Collaborates with systems engineering to define requirements for data models, pipelines, event tracking, and system integrations. Partners with product management and systems engineering to understand how product components operate, interact, and influence downstream data. Translates business concepts into clean, maintainable data structures optimized for business intelligence and self-service analytics. Evaluates and recommends emerging analytics technologies to improve productivity and insight quality. Enables teams to self-serve by training stakeholders on metric definitions, dashboard usage, and data interpretation. Drives a culture of evidence-based decision making across product and operational teams. Ensures analytical data quality through validation, quality assurance processes, and automated monitoring where applicable. Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements. Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • B.S. in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, etc.
  • 8+ years experience working as a data analyst, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and at least one analytical programming language (Python or R)
  • Expertise with modern BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of product analytics concepts: metrics frameworks, funnel analysis, segmentation, experimentation design, etc.
  • Ability to translate data insights into compelling narratives for executives and cross‑functional partners.
  • Experience working with large data sets and modern data platforms (databricks, snowflake)
  • Experience working within agile teams.
