About The Position

Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) is the team behind the cloud, responsible for delivering over 200 Microsoft web portals and Live and Online Services globally. The Procurement team within CO+I ensures fair and ethical procurement processes and manages all commercial and contract requirements to support the growth of the Cloud and our customers. We are looking for a Sourcing and Category Manager for our America West team to support builds in the America Western region. This role is critical in managing complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-billion, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 6+ years experience in Data Science/Analytics, Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations.
  • OR Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 5+ years experience in Data Science/Analytics, Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND 8+ years experience in Data Science/Analytics, Finance, Project Management, Supply Chain, and/or Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and manage Equipment contracts for large, complex data center construction projects and/or purchasing opportunities.
  • Collect relevant internal and industry data to understand business requirements and benchmarks.
  • Integrate business specifications into RFI and RFP processes and manage supplier scorecard criteria.
  • Partner with suppliers to identify and drive continuous improvement and risk management opportunities.
  • Manage contract and price negotiation activities for equipment categories.
  • Understand construction industry contracting norms and Microsoft contracting requirements.
  • Identify risks and roadblocks to contract execution and drive action to resolve them.
  • Monitor and mitigate the impact of change orders to the underlying business case.
  • Ensure adherence to policy and manage the remediation of sourcing issues.
  • Develop pricing and negotiation strategies on contract changes for multiple purchasing categories.
  • Provide functional direction to Site based Procurement Managers.

Benefits

  • Base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year.
  • Base pay range for this role in the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area is USD $146,200 - $219,200 per year.
