The position involves managing and directing the purchasing of goods and services of APP, identifying potential supplier sources, conducting interviews with potential vendors, negotiating favorable supplier agreements, and managing supplier and vendor contracts. You will continually manage and evaluate the performance of each vendor to ensure the partnership remains mutually beneficial. Additionally, you will manage APP’s sourcing capabilities and supply chain, strategizing and negotiating with suppliers and vendors to acquire the most cost-effective deals and reduce procurement expenses.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or related field.
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain within a manufacturing environment.
• Aerospace industry experience preferred.
• Possess analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to analyze and interpret information.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Strong management skills with the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Set on-site meetings with suppliers at their facilities to understand their capabilities and weaknesses.
• Perform onsite supplier audits and evaluations related to compliance, capacity, production/change management, supply chain, quality, and equipment/tooling management.
• Analyze and rank the supplier base to determine spending.
• Define single-sourcing situations and develop secondary sources.
• Implement contracts or MOUs to clearly define expectations.
• Manage the end-to-end inner company supply chain relationship with business sites.
• Help resolve procurement issues with sales, engineering, quality, and operations.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on supplier performance.
• Maintain key Supply Chain performance indicators.
• Ensure processes comply with AS9100 quality requirements.
• Lead the development and execution of long-term strategies to optimize APP’s position.
• Provide feedback and ideas for improvement to leadership and the APP team.
• Promote cooperative relationships with suppliers.
• Conduct development, negotiations, and contracting to reduce spend while ensuring high service levels.
• Ensure targeted financial savings are achieved within a framework of financial control.
• Manage the contract cycle and supplier NDAs.
• Receive goods and services at the highest value and lowest cost.
• Track and trend differences in price, lead time, and quality across suppliers.
• Meet with suppliers to establish risk levels.
• Determine sustainability of current practices and take action to mitigate risks.
