About The Position

The Sr. Process Technician - Injection Molding role at Saint-Gobain involves manufacturing close tolerance plastic parts by setting up and operating an injection molding machine while maintaining high safety standards and quality documentation. The technician will be responsible for setting up and running new production jobs, assisting technicians and mold setters, inspecting product dimensions, ensuring conformity with customer requirements, running production safely, deburring and bagging production, evaluating tooling, and maintaining a clean workspace. The position is based in Garden Grove, CA, with working hours from Monday to Friday, either from 5:00 am to 1:30 pm or 9:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED certificate (preferred).
  • Ability to read, understand and follow written materials including blueprint drawings, job orders, etc.
  • 5+ years experience in injection molding plastics processing.
  • 5+ years prior experience in set-up and operation of injection molds and auxiliary equipment.
  • Experience using inspection equipment and following quality procedures.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, good attendance and flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Manual dexterity required to operate machinery and program equipment.
  • Good vision to read written materials and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Manufactures close tolerance plastic parts by setting up and operating an injection molding machine.
  • Set up and run new production jobs when scheduled.
  • Assist technicians and mold setters to ensure all required tooling is set up and processed per documentation.
  • Inspect product actual dimensions per drawings.
  • Ensure manufactured parts conform with all customer requirements through the completion of detailed inspection plans/reports.
  • Run production safely and consistently measuring all critical areas per sample lot size.
  • Deburr and bag all production in accordance with the router steps and stamp off operations before moving to the next operation.
  • Evaluate tooling and provide improvement suggestions to process Engineer.
  • Maintain 5S workspace before, during, and after each scheduled shift.
