About The Position

The Sr Process Engineer at ConocoPhillips will be responsible for providing development engineering and project execution support for infrastructure projects in the Permian Basin. This role involves working closely with various teams to ensure compliance with engineering standards and local regulations while addressing technical challenges related to production field equipment. The position offers significant exposure to engineering and technical challenges, focusing on the commissioning and startup phases of projects.

Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
  • Current Valid Driver's License.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5 or more years of engineering experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • 1 or more years of experience working with process modeling software (HYSYS, HYSIM, Aspen Plus, ProMax, PIPESIM, Flarenet).
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of processes from well facilities to delivery points.
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of technical standards (API, ASME, ANSI, etc.).
  • Willing and able to travel 25% of the time on a yearly basis.

Nice To Haves

  • 10 or more years of direct engineering design experience in upstream oil and gas facilities.
  • 1 or more years of experience directing engineering contractors.
  • Advanced knowledge of technical standards (API, ASME, ANSI, etc.).
  • Advanced understanding of the project process.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Good understanding of risks and risk management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide process engineering support to the Projects, Base and Operations teams as required.
  • Simulate gas and liquid processes on various process simulators (HYSIM, HYSYS, PROMax, Pipesim, Flarenet, etc).
  • Support the development of the engineering and construction project scopes of work.
  • Complete design sizing for equipment, hydraulic calculations, control valve sizing, and other process design tasks.
  • Develop and prepare basis of design, process flow diagrams (PFD), piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), heat and material balances (H&MBs), and equipment datasheets.
  • Provide process engineering support during engineering reviews: 3D model, P&ID, HAZOP, and other design reviews.
  • Review and size flare and relief valves.
  • Assist other design disciplines in preparing equipment specifications.
  • Demonstrate technical competence in oil and gas processing, gas dehydration, and pipeline operations.
  • Provide technical expertise to the project execution team.
  • Direct third-party engineering contractors in support of engineering deliverables.
  • Establish priorities and manage multiple activities effectively.
  • Support and participate in the MOC process, performing risk assessments and PHA studies as required.
