The Sr. Principal System architect & ORAN standard Engineer is responsible for the architecting of the RU/DU/CU the development based on the ORAN CUSM plane specifications and OTIC test specifications.
Responsible for the architectural design and standard compliance for RU/DU/CU development-based ORAN CUSM plane specifications and OTIC test specifications to meet the system level functional and performance requirements
Provide standard related CUS plane requirements, interface, and specification to support the Software/Hardware Development of RU and DU and CU
Develop the requirements and specifications for M plane software implementation and Yang model based on the functionalities of the Kyocera RU
Responsible for and collaborating with firmware engineers for the overall RU software architecture, interface, and modularization during development
Align with 3GPP with related technical analysis and proposal
Participate in ORAN Meeting to keep track of up-to-date development and submit contribution, if needed, based on the development requirements
Master's with 13+ years or PhD with 5 years in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, communication area or related field preferred
In-depth understanding of 3GPP 5G/4G systems and minimum 5 year experience in the active participation of the development of the 3GPP standard (RAN1 to RAN 4 with emphasis on RAN 1)
Strong understanding of 5G-NR/4G Layer 1 specifications, physical/MAC layer protocol stack and procedures
In-depth understanding of ORAN C/U/S/M specifications and compliance and conformance test specifications
Experience in active participation and contribution to ORAN WG4 and/or 3GPP meetings on regular basis
Ability to analyze difficult problems, debug and fix issues related to ORAN RU implementations
Knowledge of L1 signal processing and mMIMO and implementation
Strong understanding of programming language (C/C++, Python) coding
Ability to take ownership and bring innovations in the development of commercial base station
Good understand functionality related to Layer 2 (MAC/RLC/PDCP) and Layer 3 (RRC)
Good understanding with BSP, HAL, Platform, and Application layer
Good understanding of Linux system
Good understanding of Xeon platform and RT kernel and accelerator
Good understanding of cloudification and virtualization
Experience with (R&S/Viavi) test equipment and software for Layer 1 test
