Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals in our San Diego, CA location supporting the F-35 Program within the Communications Solutions Business Unit. This position is Onsite/Hybrid located in San Diego, CA. We are unable to accommodate a full-time remote arrangement. We are looking for a data-driven Senior Planning Specialist supporting the Global Supply Chain (GSC) organization to lead, coordinate and execute assigned tasks within established constraints, while also being flexible to ever evolving program requirements. This is an incredible opportunity for an individual to both lead program efforts and also work hand-in-hand with Program Managers, Contracts/Subcontracts, Operations, Business Management, Quality and Engineering! The selected individual should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations set by senior leaders, significantly diverse assignments, and regularly shifting priorities within a collaborative team setting across all levels, all while performing with very limited management oversight.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 8 years of experience, or Master's Degree with at least 6 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Program/Project Management, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field
  • Direct experience working in Supply Chain / Logistics
  • Experience with SAP or similar Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system(s)
  • Experience in working with or in the areas of supplier financial reporting/forecasting, contracting/subcontracting, or supplier/program/product scheduling
  • Experience with or in-depth knowledge of Federal and Defense Contracting requirements including FAR/DFARS/ITAR
  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance

  • Highly proficient level of experience with Excel and ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Earned Value Management methodology and subject matter

  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management across multiple levels of an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to influence team members, interact with peers and all levels of management in the organization

Responsibilities

  • Develops supply chain strategy and leads activities for GSC in all phases of the Northrop Grumman Business Acquisition Process (BAP), working with program and other cross-functional team members from requirements establishment through final material deliveries
  • Manages the GSC scope for multifaceted program(s), proposal through close-out; coordinates interdepartmental activity, facilitates internal/external team communication, coordinates with Suppliers, and integrates efforts across all GSC functions
  • Coordinates cross-functionally (with all program functions) to ensure supply chain commitments are established, accomplished and that appropriate integrated mitigation or opportunity plans are developed and executed
  • Leads supply chain execution and is accountable for horizontal and vertical integration, resource planning, material cost, Earned Value Management, forecasting, schedule performance, risk/opportunity and issue management, supplier performance, and issue resolution
  • Demonstrates problem solving skills in supply chain, business management, operations, logistics, engineering, or program management
  • Regularly briefs the GSC Program Management team and program leadership on GSC activity status and issues affecting program performance: Cost, risks and opportunities, and schedule
  • Will be involved in special projects and continuous improvement activities
  • Mentor other team members on procedural best practices with an eye for maximum cost/schedule/performance efficiencies
