About The Position

The Sr. Principal of Digital, Technology and Data Policy at The Cigna Group is a key role focused on analyzing and developing public policy related to health care technology and data. This position involves writing detailed analyses of legislation and regulations, contributing to Cigna's Government Affairs team, and ensuring that policy solutions drive affordability, predictability, and simplicity for clients. The role requires a deep understanding of federal and state policy issues, particularly in areas such as AI, cybersecurity, data analytics, and health technology.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of policy setting experience in the data and technology space.
  • Strong background in legislative analysis and understanding of federal statutory constructs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Political acumen and ability to engage with high-level stakeholders.
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to finalize work products timely and accurately.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and seek information.

Nice To Haves

  • JD, MBA, or Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience in a relevant committee on Capitol Hill or in a relevant Agency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement policy and positioning recommendations.
  • Conduct legislative and regulatory analysis on health care technology and data policy.
  • Facilitate internal and external work groups to gather input and synthesize feedback.
  • Work with business partners to support implementation of laws and regulations.
  • Develop policy alternatives through discussion papers and white papers.
  • Prepare written communications including memos, policy briefs, and talking points.
  • Present views internally and to policymakers and external groups.
