About The Position

The position involves significant responsibilities in new product development, legacy sustaining, and technical development within the telecommunications or embedded systems domain. The role requires a strong focus on electrical design, including feasibility studies, solution simulations, and verification processes. The candidate will work closely with manufacturing teams to develop functional tests and provide technical support to customers. Additionally, the role includes handling RMA investigations, implementing corrective actions, and managing part shortages in mass production. The candidate will also be tasked with improving product density and coaching junior hardware engineers.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. degree or above in electronics engineering or telecommunication.
  • 8+ years of board-level or system-level hardware design experience in telecommunications or embedded systems.
  • Proven expertise in high-speed digital circuit design, with hands-on experience developing telecom line cards.
  • Strong skills in analog circuit simulation and practical implementation.
  • Experience in designing high sensitivity optical signal detection circuits.
  • Solid background in FPGA-based control system circuit design, including interface and logic integration.
  • Experience with EDFA, OTDR, or OCM products is a strong plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with hardware circuit design tools such as Orcad and Cadence Allegro.
  • Deep understanding of hardware design and engineering process (PCB and PCBA) and quality control.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working in cross-cultural and global team environments.
  • Excellent teamwork, self-motivated and responsible.

Responsibilities

  • New product development - 70%: Electrical design throughout feasibility study, solution simulation and verification, schematic creating, BOM management, PCBA bring-up, function verification test including signal integrity check for key signals and generate test report.
  • Working with manufacturing team to develop manufacturing electrical functional tests.
  • Customer technical support.
  • Work with NPI and Test Eng teams to transfer design to manufacture.
  • Legacy Sustaining - 20%: RMA investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Handle part EOL or part shortage in mass production, suggest alternative part, do verification and ECO to introduce the parts.
  • Technical Development - 10%: Identify technologies to reduce product power consumption and required PCBA area.
  • Coach junior hardware engineers.
