Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Launch and Missile Defense Systems offers an excellent opportunity for a Sr Principal Engineer Systems Test – System Test SME (25-504) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. This position, based at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, plays a vital role in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels. This position does not offer relocation support and requires on-site work with no remote options.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field such as Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline from an accredited university is preferred, along with 8 years of experience; or a Master’s degree (preferred) in a STEM-related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or a PhD in a related field with 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% to support business needs.
  • Experience in integration and testing within the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Systems Engineering.
  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification.
  • Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional - Model Builder Fundamental (OCSMP - MBF).
  • Self-starter with strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience with the C2BMC program in any role.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and analyzing all ground and flight tests related to the C2BMC program.
  • Conducting various types of ground tests including Pairwise tests, Continuous Developmental Integration (CDI), Integrated Ground Test (GTI), Distributed Ground Test (GTD), Cyber Tests, and Space Domain Awareness (SDA).
  • Performing flight tests with predetermined sensors and shooters.
  • Managing international events consisting of various ground and flight tests.
