Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Engineer Systems - Cost Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL . The Cost Engineering position represents a unique specialty engineering opportunity within the larger Systems Engineering organization. The Cost Engineer works closely with all technical aspects and requirements of the program, linking the technical solution to the cost solution. They are responsible for performing a variety of engineering economic analyses that can be executed throughout the product life cycle stages. The position requires an understanding of at least two of the following analyses: Cost-Effectiveness, Life Cycle Cost (LCC), Cost As an Independent Variable (CAIV), Design to Cost (DTC), and Cost Reduction Initiatives (CRI). It requires systems thinking and a working knowledge of the development life cycle. The candidate will develop tradeoffs of requirements, design, performance, cost, and schedule to address affordability constraints. The candidate should have a foundational understanding of Systems Engineering; stakeholder analysis, mission engineering, system architecture and design, system integration, system analysis and trade studies, risk and opportunity management.
