This role involves designing, analyzing, developing, modifying and evaluating electrical/electronic parts, components, sub-systems, algorithms, or integrated circuitry for electrical/electronic equipment and other hardware systems. It includes conducting feasibility studies, design margin and validation analyses and empirical testing on new and modified designs. The position assists in architecture development and assessment and evaluates reliability of materials, properties, designs, and techniques used in production. It may also direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Contributions in this role have substantial technical impact on a significant HPE product/project, or a strategic/architectural direction. The individual will be a go-to creator and innovator for critical business challenges and opportunities, providing substantial, unique contributions that offer long-lasting, recurring benefits like time-to-market improvements, cost reductions, or satisfying future and current unmet customer needs. This role is recognized as an internal authority on key technology areas, providing technical leadership to the business for significant project/program work, leading and connecting others across functions to unite around a common goal, and actively mentoring others while contributing to the HPE technical community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Typically 10+ years’ experience.
  • Knows how to use electrical design tools and software packages.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to design for cost and innovate.
  • Experienced in overall architecture of electronic hardware for products and solutions.
  • Has knowledge in designing and integrating electronic components, integrated circuitry, and algorithms into overall architecture.
  • Evaluating, proposing, and selecting forms of empirical analysis, modelling and testing methodologies to validate component, circuit, and hardware designs and thermal/emissions management to be used across the organization.
  • Has a history of innovation with multiple patents in the field of electronics packaging.
  • Possesses electronic/ electrical design skills, as well as circuit design, test, and verification skills.
  • Knows how to use CAD design tools and software packages for PCBA board design.
  • Demonstrate business acumen and experience managing programs, including communicating with stakeholders and partnering with peers and managers.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills; mastery in English and local language, with an excellent ability to communicate nuanced concepts and influence in written and oral communication with a broad vocabulary.
  • Ability to effectively communicate program plans, product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options/results at business unit and executive levels.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and defines organization-wide architectures and methodologies for electrical hardware design, with development across multiple platforms and organizations within the Global Business Unit, contributing to technology roadmaps.
  • Makes recommendations regarding new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships for alignment with technology roadmap and business value; creates plans for integration and updates into the architecture.
  • Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards.
  • Drives the integration of valuable recommendations, updates, and innovations into the overall architecture and leads the platform architecture process across the business.
  • Leverages recognized domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of executive business leadership, outsourced development partners, and industry standard groups.
  • Takes a leadership role providing guidance and mentoring to less- experienced team members, setting an example of electrical hardware design, as well as development innovation and excellence.
  • Manages and leads multi-board designs involving multiple functions and project teams to drive the engineering development via a defined process.
  • Develops and directs development of schedules, critical deliverables, budget, resource allocation plan, and other support requirements for assigned programs.
  • Manages activities to support project teams and development partners; progress against plans using resource allocation to meet product requirements and schedules.
  • Communicates program progress, escalations, and issue analysis to product stakeholders; collaborates with internal manufacturing and development partners to produce processes to meet budgets, product roadmaps, and schedules.
  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies and quality initiatives into projects and activities in the manufacturing and/or engineering organization.
  • Leads and provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced team members.
