Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer IV – (Ground Weapon System) Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our electrical ground support equipment group in our Chandler, AZ facility and lead the Ground Weapon System (GWS) Electrical Engineering team designing EGSE in support of the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program. Our electrical ground support equipment (EGSE) team supports our programs with the design, test, and sustainment of all EGSE and test support equipment hardware used in the integration and launch of our vehicles. Our EGSE team members work in a diverse set of roles across the lifecycle of a program.

  • Lead the electrical engineering team and set specific tasking for individual contributors to execute.
  • Act as the single point of contact responsible for all electrical systems within the program scope of work.
  • Oversee all aspects of the electrical design ensuring compliance to established command media and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to address EE requirement impacts into total system design.
  • Perform Cost Account Management (CAM), report variances, earned value, and provide inputs to program master schedule.
  • Develop and present technical material to all levels of customers to represent the program and ensure compliance to all requirements.
  • Derive requirements through multiple sources of documentation and design meetings.
  • Evaluate uncertainty and risks associated with requirements and designs.
  • Participate in trade studies for both internal projects and procured equipment.
  • Provide formal review of complex engineering designs and analyses.
  • Requires 8 years with a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or 6 years with a Master’s in Electrical Engineering.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance at time of application.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Leadership of engineering teams.
  • Design, test, qualification, or integration experience with launch vehicle or missile products.
  • Design, test, and/or integration and deployment of electrical ground support equipment (EGSE) or test support equipment (TSE).
  • Design, test, programming, and/or integration and deployment of automated test equipment (ATE).
  • Experience with classified test systems or systems subject to cyber security policies.
  • Testing of avionics, electronic components, or electrical systems using purpose designed test equipment.
  • Burndown of nonconformances and/or root cause failure analysis of electronic systems.
  • Release of engineering documentation including technical drawings, specifications, and test procedures.
  • Problem solving for technical issues, schedule, cost, resource and other project challenges.
  • Mentoring and cross-training team members across a diverse set of technologies and equipment architectures.
