Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Engineer Aeronautical to join our team of qualified diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA and is assigned to 1st shift on a 4 day - 10 hours/day schedule (Monday - Thursday).

Requirements

• Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 8 years of experience, a Master's Degree in STEM with 6 years of experience, or a PhD Degree with 3 years of experience
• Current in-scope DOD Secret Clearance
• Ability to obtain a Program Special access within a reasonable period of time

Nice To Haves

• Previous MRB/LE Authority for Engineering
• Experience with TeamCenter and NX, Visualization Professional, or other CAD program
• Experience working hands-on in a production assembly line environment
• Experience with Model Based Engineering (MBE) (3-D model engineering definition)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, leadership, and problem solving abilities

Responsibilities

• Act as engineering authority for non-conformances supporting the STRIKE program
• Perform timely dispositions for nonconforming parts, assemblies, and installations
• Coordinate with a team of multiple disciplines engineers to determine effective solutions to defects that are innovative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives
• Maintain integrity of the Material Review Board (MRB) process and engineering authority
