About The Position

The Pricing & Estimating Analyst is responsible for leading the development of pricing strategies, cost estimates, and financial analysis for customer quotations and proposals. This role partners closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure all bids and quotations are financially sound, competitive, and aligned with company margin objectives. The position will report to the Director of Finance and plays a key role in improving quote accuracy, margin performance, and pricing governance. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or Business
  • Minimum 5+ years in: manufacturing costing, estimating, pricing, commercial finance
  • ERP systems (SAP, Syteline, Oracle, etc.)
  • Excel modeling
  • Margin analysis
  • RFQ management
  • Strong communication and cross functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Quote & Bid Management: Lead the RFQ / proposal costing process for new and existing products.
  • Develop detailed cost models including: labor, materials, overhead, subcontractor costs, logistics
  • Coordinate with engineering and operations to validate production assumptions.
  • Pricing Strategy: Establish pricing guidelines that meet target gross margins and profitability goals.
  • Evaluate competitive positioning and customer pricing sensitivity.
  • Obtain pricing approval for major quotes before submission to customers.
  • Cost Estimation: Build and maintain standard cost models and estimating tools.
  • Analyze bill of materials, routings, and labor standards.
  • Develop cost estimates for new product introductions and engineered-to-order products.
  • Cost estimators typically analyze data to determine the labor, materials, and time required to manufacture products.
  • Financial Analysis: Perform deal profitability analysis and margin modeling.
  • Review impact of pricing decisions on: contribution margin, capacity utilization, working capital
  • Support Finance with forecasting and strategic pricing analysis.
  • Process Improvement: Implement standardized RFQ workflows and approval processes.
  • Improve quote turnaround time and cost accuracy.
  • Establish pricing dashboards and reporting.
  • Develop standardized estimating procedures and documentation.
  • Cross functional collaboration: Sales / Business Development – customer quotes Engineering – technical scope and product specifications Operations / Manufacturing – labor and routing assumptions Supply Chain – supplier quotes Finance leadership – margin approval and profitability analysis
