About the position

The Sr. Pricing Director will oversee and drive the development and adoption of pricing strategies, policies, and processes across both the East and West Divisions. This role will lead the annual update and optimization process, periodic profitability analysis and other strategic pricing actions in response to competitive and market dynamics. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Pricing, the Sr. Director will partner with the leaders of various functional organizations within SiteOne to ensure pricing aligns with market value, customer segments, and competitive dynamics. This position will lead a team of pricing managers, analysts and coordinators to support the company with data-driven pricing analysis and strategies that drive long-term growth and profit margin improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the periodic pricing optimization review to ensure alignment with competitive environment, market conditions, customer behavior and company financial goals.
  • Conduct periodic pricing and margin performance reviews with Regional VPs and Divisional Presidents, recommend specific actions for margin improvement.
  • Monitor pricing, discounting, volume and margin performance metrics and recommend opportunities for profit optimization.
  • Leverage transactional pricing analysis tools to find price and profit leakage, partner with field leaders to develop action plans to close leakage and drive profit improvement.
  • Develop analytical models to support pricing initiatives, model alternative scenarios, and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
  • Lead and mentor a team of pricing professionals, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for growth and development.
  • Develop and conduct training and education to the SiteOne field organization on the pricing structure and strategies.

Requirements

  • 10+ years' experience in pricing, with a minimum of 5 years managing a team.
  • 10-15 years' experience in business-to-business manufacturing, distribution, or a related field. Distribution experience is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, economics, or related field required.
  • MBA or advanced degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Strong capabilities in analytics, price optimization, strategy development and pricing process implementation.
  • Proven skills in large data-set modeling and analysis, advanced statistical knowledge.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully leading cross functional teams on complex projects.
  • Proven experience applying transactional pricing tools to drive margin improvement.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Expert proficiency in MS Excel; experience with SPSS, SAS, SQL or Tableau a plus.
