The Sr. Pricing Analyst for Merchandising at Zappos is responsible for conducting KPI analysis and implementing pricing strategies that support the Merchandising and Pricing teams. This role involves leveraging various data platforms and analytical tools to maximize profitability while ensuring data integrity and accuracy. The analyst evaluates price competitiveness, analyzes product portfolio performance, and creates actionable reports to provide insights for pricing strategies that attract customers and enhance profitability.

  • Perform pricing analyses and create actionable reports offering key insights on pricing scenarios to the merchandising teams for next actions.
  • Create actionable reports for Merchandising that offer insights into pricing, promotional impacts, and competitive landscape, guiding the development of comprehensive pricing strategies.
  • Implement pricing strategy within reporting and analytics and advising on health and goal towards pricing goals.
  • Analyzing pricing strategy performance and impact; recommending and championing changes to pricing strategy based on results from analyses.
  • Monitoring Pricing Health KPI Metrics and identifying process changes in alignment with strategy on actions needed.
  • Building financial models based on the assessment of the impact of various pricing strategies to support trade off conversations.
  • Creating, writing, QA'ing new pricing rules.
  • Supporting strategic pricing initiatives with key insights to drive decision making across the team and organization.
  • Collecting and assessing market and competitor data and applying analytics to inform strategy.
  • Working closely with Merchandising and Pricing leadership teams (along with other cross functional teams) to partner on understanding needs and communicating strategy and actions accordingly in support of business operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Business, Economics, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least four (4) years of experience in pricing and/or revenue management.
  • At least two (2) years of experience leading strategic pricing projects.
  • Microsoft Office expertise, especially in Excel.
  • SQL experience.
  • Excellent communicator: Speaks and writes clearly and concisely.
  • Analytical and organized with relentless attention to detail.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and affinity for numbers.
  • Work experience in the e-commerce industry.
