The Sr. PP&C Analyst for UOP LLC in Rosemont, IL is responsible for supporting project planning processes, customer meetings, and reviewing budgets on allocated programs. The typical scope of programs includes the supply of process technology, products, engineered systems, and technical services to the petroleum refining, petrochemical, gas processing, and energy industries. The role involves developing program plans, creating cost and schedule baselines for Engineering, Procurement, and Fabrication of modules (EPF) scope, and managing vendor progress. The analyst will prepare and publish metrics and reports, analyze projects through ERP data, and support the quality of projects' Estimate at Completion (EAC) cost forecast analysis. Additionally, the analyst will work closely with project managers to produce accurate cost estimates for change orders and maintain the change log, while also managing unbilled, receivable, and payable balances on assigned projects.

  • Support in project planning processes and customer meetings.
  • Review budgets on allocated programs.
  • Develop program plans and create cost and schedule baselines for Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication of modules (EPF) scope.
  • Prepare and publish metrics and reports.
  • Analyze projects through ERP data - Incurred to Date (ITD) costs and estimate to complete (ETC) costs.
  • Support quality of projects Estimate at Completion (EAC) cost forecast analysis.
  • Analyze variances and review compliance to corporate guidelines across multiple teams.
  • Request mentoring and leadership skills for development of team members.
  • Support the development of program plans and establish contract baseline budgets, plan milestones, and apply Earned Value method (EVM).
  • Maintain project cost and schedule tools used by project managers.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of forecasting, cost incurred, EACs, and variances.
  • Assist in producing and maintaining project schedules and associated deliverables and progress S curves.
  • Ensure accuracy of earned value data and process compliance on assigned project portfolio.
  • Work with Project Managers to produce accurate cost estimates for change orders.
  • Manage the unbilled, receivable, and payable balances on assigned projects.
  • Contribute to coordination of monthly project status reports to customers.
  • Actively participate in project review meetings and provide clear, accurate project assessments.
  • Track and analyze project threats and opportunities, develop project contingency budgets, and maintain run down curves for cost risk assessment.
  • Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Business, Science, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Project Management, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 8 years of experience with Project Controls in Mechanical, Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Oil & Gas, Automation or Electronics industries.
  • Alternatively, a Master's degree in the above listed fields and 6 years of experience with Project Controls.
  • Experience with Cost Control, Scheduling (Waterfall/Agile/Lean/Scrum), and Time Management.
  • Experience with Project Life Cycles.
  • Understanding of Project SOX (US GAAP Principles) controls and compliance.
  • Strong data analytical skills, including ability to comprehend huge financial data sets.
  • Mastery in Microsoft Excel/Power BI dashboarding.
  • Ability to reconcile huge amounts of financial data across project portfolio.
  • Experience conducting comprehensive analysis involving big data and data wrangling for annual reconciliations.
  • PMP certification.
  • Data Analytics certification.
