About The Position

Amegy Bank is seeking a Senior Portfolio Manager to join the International Banking team in Houston or San Antonio, TX. International Banking is a full-service lending group specializing in financing solutions for exporters, importers, U.S. subsidiaries of foreign companies, and international corporates. The ideal candidate will possess the skills and experience necessary to: Manage all phases of the credit approval process. Prepare comprehensive credit memos analyzing financial statements, market risks, guarantor strength, and loan structure to assess creditworthiness, while ensuring compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory requirements. Oversee an assigned portfolio, including monitoring for delinquencies, matured loans, collateral, financial statements, borrowing base and covenant compliance, risk grading, and monthly reporting. Collaborate effectively with clients, peers, credit officers, and senior management. Stay informed on financial and market trends affecting the portfolio and assess their impact. Identify early warning signs and proactively manage deteriorating credits or emerging risks. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. Minimum of five years of experience in commercial loan underwriting, credit analysis, or a related area. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial lending, credit analysis, financial statement interpretation, risk assessment, credit monitoring, and loan documentation is required.
  • Formal credit training is preferred.
  • Familiarity with banking products, services, policies, procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Proficiency in underwriting, financial modeling, valuation, and policy compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
