About The Position

The Sr. Plant Safety Specdialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and policies to ensure a safe working environment. This role involves conducting risk assessments, training employees, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards. What you'll be doing: Design and execute comprehensive safety programs to prevent workplace injuries and accidents. Identify potential hazards and conduct thorough risk assessments to mitigate risks. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations and standards. Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels. Lead investigations into workplace incidents and accidents, and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement. Prepare and present safety reports to management, highlighting key metrics and areas of concern. Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures. Work closely with other departments to integrate safety practices into all aspects of operations. Additional Responsibilities as Assigned. This position is located at our Elk Grove Village, IL Facility and 100% onsite

Requirements

Prefer Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety-related role, preferably in a senior or specialist capacity.
Relevant safety certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) certification.
In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify hazards and develop effective solutions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively train employees and report to management.
High level of attention to detail to ensure thorough risk assessments and compliance monitoring.
Proven leadership skills to guide and influence safety practices across the organization.
Ability to proactively identify potential safety issues and implement preventive measures.
