Job Description: POSITION PURPOSE This position is responsible to leading a world class customer service focused operation and delivering overall business results while driving process of continuous improvement for assigned operational area(s) through the entire supply chain (from order, procurement to delivery). Will engage directly with customer interfacing/interaction and establishing strong connections and relationships to foster a highly impactful and exceptional customer experience. Will lead a diverse team and drive a work culture that is supportive and inclusive for all our employees. May be responsible for multiple business functions and/or complex/changing value streams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Preferably in engineering, business, operations management, or similar field
  • Lean Six Sigma Experience preferred, demonstrated by successful completion of a major improvement project
  • Minimum of eight to ten years of prior work experience as a manufacturing leader in a complex, made to order manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to function successfully in a fast paced, changing work environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
  • Ability to lead a team-based approach to decision making
  • Strong servant leadership skills with the ability to get results through mentoring skills
  • Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills

Responsibilities

  • Led day-to-day operations of a commodity priced product business unit. Including responsibility of key functional areas (Manufacturing Operations, Safety, Quality)
  • Deliver agreed results in the areas of safety, quality, customer service, cost and employee engagement /development for all areas of responsibility.
  • Develops and implements plans to provide process improvement in key areas defined above. Value stream improvement initiatives will be aligned with Lean Manufacturing principles and the manufacturing strategic plan and corporate initiatives.
  • Mentor developing employees by providing coaching, information, ideas, feedback, and encouragement to employees and managers to promote growth and development.
  • Participates in negotiations with suppliers regarding issues that impact the value stream and distribution: prices, quality, customer service, etc.
  • Develops a strategy and ensures alignment of activities/metrics and resources within the business unit and functional areas. Ensure cross-organization collaboration and employee involvement where appropriate.
  • Responsible for implementing strategies to foster a customer-focused, high performance, strategically aligned business.
  • Cultivates an environment of team development, professionalism, knowledge and sense of urgency that demonstrates our commitment to excellence.
  • Responsible for establishing high standards of business performance along with establishing budgets, metrics and appropriate OKR’s to deliver performance to budget.
  • Support new process and product development and implementation to ensure the business is meeting customer expectations.
  • Be highly visible to employees and create a safe environment for employee engagement.
  • Promote active/servant leadership to solve problems and promote high involvement approaches to problem solving.
  • Establish visual management techniques to manage the business processes and operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Visit with customers through plant visits to build customer confidence and create an environment for sustained growth in the commodity priced Market.
  • Provide direct or indirect leadership and direction to Value Stream Manager(s), Value Stream Supervisors, Team Leads, Safety and Maintenance.
  • Need to be highly effective in a matrixed organization to ensure alignment and collaboration across all business functions.
