The Senior Planning Manager, Continuous Improvement leads high‑impact cross‑functional projects that elevate planning excellence across S&OP, Supply, Inventory, and Demand. This role will implement new critical improvement efforts, for example but not limited to, capacity planning in SAP/IBP (people, process, technology, data) and Distribution Requirements Planning, creating standardized, scalable processes that improve service, reduce backorders, optimize inventory, and increase planner productivity. The role also serves as a bridge between Planning and Logistics/Distribution + critical functional partners, translating business needs into executable designs, and institutionalizing new ways of working with measurable outcomes. It partners closely with Global/Regional Planning, Manufacturing, Logistics & Distribution/3PLs, Commercial, Finance, IT, and Data/Analytics (e.g., IBP/S4 and Power BI).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or related field.
  • 7+ years progressive experience in Supply Chain Planning (S&OP, Supply, Inventory, Demand) in a multi‑plant / multi‑DC environment.
  • 3+ years delivering CI/OpEx programs with tangible service/cost/inventory outcomes.
  • Hands‑on experience with SAP S/4HANA and/or SAP IBP (or equivalent APS), including parameter governance and deployment/DRP; strong Excel and Power BI skills.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional work.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy, Portfolio & Governance · Own the CI roadmap for Planning (S&OP, Supply, Inventory, Demand), with a pipeline that balances quick wins and platform builds; establish project charters, use cases, KPIs, RACIs, and cadence for steering reviews.
  • Define and enforce process, data, and control standards (planning calendars, master data parameters, service targets, change control) both for WW and regions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality procedures and applicable regulations for medical devices; document controls and provide auditable records.
  • Capacity Planning Implementation (People–Process–Technology–Data) · Lead the end‑to‑end capacity planning enablement to enable system adoption: operating model and roles, planning processes (tactical/operational horizons), data model and parameters, and tool configuration (e.g., constraints, calendars, routings/capacity, master data governance).
  • Partner with IT and solution partners (e.g., IBP/S4 capacity planning design) to define functional requirements, testing, cutover, and adoption metrics; publish standardized playbooks and training.
  • Establish KPI suite for capacity planning (plan adherence, utilization accuracy, throughput, schedule adherence, exception aging) and drive continuous improvement based on insights.
  • Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) · Design and deploy a DRP model (target architecture, data and parameter governance, deployment rules, leadtime and lane calendars, stocking policies, node targets), ensuring consistent execution across regions/DCs and 3PLs enabling automation where possible.
  • Build Plan‑to‑Deliver handoffs with Logistics/Distribution (replenishment cycles, exception management, deployment logic)
  • Lead cutover planning, hypercare, and stabilization; institutionalize performance management (fill rate/OTIF, backorder %, days of inventory, deployment plan adherence, automation and cost improvement for containers).
  • Planning–Logistics/Distribution Process Integration · Serve as the translator and integrator between Planning and Logistics/Distribution, aligning forecasting, supply planning, and deployment with transportation, DC operations, and order fulfillment realities.
  • Stand up new processes where none exist today (e.g., deployment rules to optimize both supply (Inventory)and logistics (cost) and automate where practical.
  • Implement case/pallet forecasting to enable effective cost and operational management Plant to DC and DC to DC. Support TLB implementation – Transport Load Builder, to optimize containers and improve cost while managing cash.
  • Data and Analytics · Define and govern critical planning parameters to support projects and initiatives being implemented above.
  • Implement interconnected analytics (ex: FCA and inventory, Cost and Service), to drive improved business outcomes.
  • Partner with Master Data to maintain strong data quality and controls across S/4HANA/IBP and related systems; publish parameter health dashboards and exception queues.
  • Enable Scenario planning for the planning teams, using the system
  • Eliminate manual spreadsheets and leverage system capability
  • Change Leadership & Capability Building · Critical member of the Planning leadership time, that supports Supply planning, Demand and inventory.
  • Drive change management (stakeholder mapping, comms, training, role enablement, superuser network), ensuring sustained adoption; embed standard work and knowledge articles.
  • Coach planners and cross‑functional partners in structured problem solving (A3/ DMAIC), scenario planning, and exception‑driven execution; cultivate a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Serve as change management and communication lead for the Sr. Directors sphere of influence, to ensure all key stakeholders are informed and driving shared goals
