About The Position

This position contributes to the mission of the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center and the goals of the department by obtaining and/or assisting in the processing of laboratory specimens to facilitate the production of quality results. General Responsibilities: Performs LIS / computer operations and clerical functions as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Phlebotomy certificate program preferred.
• At least 2 years of active phlebotomy experience required.
• Possess current skills in the required areas.
• Phlebotomy Certificate from an accredited phlebotomy program.
• National Certification with one of the following organizations: ASCP, AMT, ASPT, or NCA.
• Communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and process laboratory specimens.
• Perform LIS / computer operations.
• Carry out clerical functions as needed.
• Assist in the production of quality results.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
