About The Position

The Sr. Pattern Maker at Varsity Brands will execute 1st proto through production patterns according to design requirements using established base patterns in all silhouette categories. This role involves creating 1st proto through production-graded specs and initial sewing instructions in PLM, collaborating with the External team and Sample Room to establish style construction standards, and working with the sample room to execute fit and sew-by samples. The position also includes reviewing the Catalogue and Production approval samples, issuing sample reports through PLM for assigned styles, and evaluating the fit of the sample on the dress form and live model(s). Other duties may be assigned upon request.

Requirements

• 5+ years of patternmaking experience using either Gerber/AccuMark / OptiTex systems.
• Proficient in Gerber AccuMark 10 and/or OptiTex and PLM systems.
• Sports apparel pattern-making experience.
• Ability to grade patterns.
• Ability to create and understand specs.
• Product Development skills, such as fitting/alteration knowledge.
• Ability to create block patterns from specs and CAD.
• Ability to develop CADs or adjust existing ones.
• Apparel construction knowledge.

Nice To Haves

• AA Degree in Patternmaking or comparable experience preferred.
• Experience with circular knits, wovens, and warp knits.
• Previous experience in computerized grading is mandatory.
• PDM/PLM experience preferred.
• Previous experience with Global brand patternmaking is preferred.
